Where Career and Motherhood Shaped Me

And the Empty Nest Inspires Me

I’ve lived the seasons of raising kids while building a career, learning to juggle deadlines and dinner tables, conference calls and carpools. Now, in this new chapter of The Empty Nest, I’m discovering fresh purpose — finding joy in the freedom, gratitude in the memories, and inspiration in the possibilities ahead.

Hi, I’m Mechele. I’m a career Mom who’s spent years learning how to balance the work I love with the family I cherish. Some days, that balance looked graceful… other days, it was a little messy — and that’s okay. I’ve learned that being a great Mom doesn’t mean being at every event or having everything perfectly in place. It means showing up with love, intention, and grace, even when life feels stretched thin.

Dear Mama,

If you’re reading this, I just want to remind you — life has a way of surprising us with beauty in every season. The Empty Nest might look different from what you imagined, but it can be filled with joy, growth, and even a little adventure.

I’m cheering you on as you find your own rhythm, embrace the freedom, and discover new ways to fill your days with meaning. You’ve poured so much love into raising your kids — now it’s time to pour a little into yourself, too.

Here’s to faith, fresh starts, and finding joy in the journey. 💛

“And yes… eat the cake. Always eat the cake.”
