Introducing Macy: From Midnight Bottles to Morning Snuggles—A New Mom’s Real-Life Journey
Welcome to “The Heart Behind The Empty Nest Mom” Series!
Welcome to our favorite corner of the internet—where real Moms share real stories, from spit-up to send-offs. In this series, we’re introducing the incredible women behind The Empty Nest Mom—the ones who’ve been there, cried there, laughed way too hard there. Whether they’re chasing toddlers, launching college kids, or rediscovering themselves one hobby (or latte) at a time, these Moms are here to remind you that you’re never alone in this journey. Come meet your new favorite people.

✨ It was such a joy to sit down with Macy and chat about New Motherhood, Dog Mom life, and all the little moments in between. She’s as real and relatable as it gets—and we can’t wait for you to get to know her too.
🎙️ We asked Macy a few fun (and maybe slightly nosy) questions—here’s what she had to say!
Let talk motherhood, How would you describe yourself as mom?
Well, I am a New Mom and a Dog Mom—which basically means my life is a beautiful mix of snuggles, spit-up, barking during nap time, and learning how to do just about everything one-handed. If you’ve ever reheated your coffee three times in one morning or cried happy tears while rocking a sleepy baby, I’m right there with you.
A Note From Mandy:
I’ve known Macy since she was a little girl, and I’ve watched her grow into a thoughtful, gentle, and quietly powerful Woman. What I love most about her is that she doesn’t try to be anything but herself—and somehow, that’s exactly what so many Moms need. Her calm spirit, her love for her baby (and her pup!), and her deep-rooted faith shine through in everything she shares. I knew the moment I created The Empty Nest Mom that Macy’s voice needed to be part of it—and I’m so proud of how she’s showing up for other Moms, just by being her.
What are your favorite go-to products right now?
When you’re juggling Mom life, it really does help to have a few key items that actually make the days go smoother. Here are some of my favorite items that I use constantly and truly love:
- La Roche – Posay moisturizer – This has been my go to! It is very gently and moisturizing and really helps with my dry skin, and with a newborn it sometimes feels like a mini spa treatments!!
- My iPad – I am not sure how I could do without this: it’s my recipe book, my alarm clock, baby tracker, my fave distraction tool, and even my late-night binge buddy.
- Owala water bottle – staying hydrated while holding a baby seems to have become a sport for me, and being able to keep my bottle beside me makes it doable (durable and cute).
- Momcozy baby monitor – This is my peace of mind. It helps me keep an eye on my baby while I do literally anything and everything.
- Momcozy sound machine – A totally believe that every Mom should have this! It helps everyone in our house (even our dog) sleep better.

Tell us a Fun fact about you?
Back in elementary school, I was apparently part gymnast—I held the chin-up record for my class! Who knew my first superpower would involve hanging from a bar!
Tell us how you Met mandy
I met Mandy when I was about 6 or 7 years old—she was our tee ball coach and her daughter Gracie was my teammate. Picture tiny uniforms, after game snacks, and Mandy cheering us on louder than anyone. She has always given the kind of support that makes you feel like you can do anything—even on two hours of sleep!
What was your first thought when Mandy told you about The Empty Nest Mom?
Honestly? I thought it sounded pretty crazy… but in the great way! Mandy is very bold and different—and I could tell she was really onto something special. The heart and ideas behind it, the connections she wants to make, and with her encouragement—it just felt so real. I’ve always been a little more on the timid side, so for Mandy to see something in me—that I could actually help Moms on a much bigger level—truly meant something to me. Whether it’s me sharing my daily stories, leaning into faith, or just being myself, the idea that my experience could lift someone else up? That lit such a big fire in me. Being part of The Empty Nest Mom isn’t just about telling others Mom’s my story, it’s about being part of a community that truly gets it. And I could not be more proud to be one of the Moms helping build connections.
“The biggest surprise, which is also the best, is that I didn’t know I would love motherhood as much as I do.”
– Deborah Norville
