If you’re looking for an easy Valentine’s Day craft that doesn’t require a trip to the store, this one was perfect for us.
Quinn and I made these little heart prints using cardboard tubes and paint, and it honestly couldn’t have been simpler.
All I did was pinch one end of an empty toilet paper roll to make a heart shape, dip it in paint, and let Quinn stamp away on construction paper. That’s it.
No instructions, no rules, and no pressure to make it “perfect.”

Why I loved this craft
It kept Quinn busy, let her be creative, and was easy enough that I didn’t have to hover the whole time. She loved seeing the heart shape appear each time she stamped, and I loved how low-stress it was.
These would be perfect for:
- Valentine cards
- A quick afternoon activity
- Something fun to do before a school party
Simple crafts like this are my favorite because they’re easy to pull together and actually enjoyable—for both of us.
A little Mom Tip: If you’re doing this with younger kids, put down paper towels or an old placemat first and let them go at their own pace. The mess is part of the fun.
