Together Café Chattanooga: The Coffee Shop With a Mission Bigger Than Coffee
This entire story started with a simple TikTok search.
I was flipping through TikTok because I wanted to find a new coffee shop to try. Nothing complicated—just somewhere different, preferably close by, where I could grab a drink, open my laptop and get a little work done.
That was when Together Café started showing up.
I saw the coffee flights first, and of course that got my attention. Four little seasonal drinks served together so you could try them all instead of choosing just one? Yes, please. They looked so good that I checked the location, realized the café was close and decided to go see it for myself.
At that point, I honestly had no idea there was a bigger story behind any of it.
I thought I was simply finding a new coffee shop.
I had no idea I was about to find a story that needed to be shared.
And if I am being perfectly honest, I believe it was more than a random TikTok search that brought me there. I had been questioning a lot that week and spending a lot of time praying about so many things. But sitting there, I felt a peace I had not felt all week. I absolutely believe I was led to Together Café for a reason—even if I did not understand that reason when I first walked through the door.

– Mandy McMahan
Together Café sits at 801 South Orchard Knob Avenue in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As soon as I walked through the door, I started thinking, Oh, there is more to this place.
The employees were so nice, everyone seemed genuinely happy and cheerful, and the café itself was absolutely adorable. It felt bright, warm and welcoming—not like a place where you grab a drink and rush back out the door.
The open loft, comfortable seating and beautiful wooden map covering the wall make it the kind of place where you actually want to sit for a while.
So I did.
I opened my laptop, ordered the fall coffee flight and planned to get a little work done. But somewhere between trying four seasonal drinks and talking with the people there, this stopped being just another coffee-shop visit.
The Fall Coffee Flight That Got Me Through the Door
The flight included four drinks:
- Pecan Pie Latte
- Sweater Weather Latte
- Simply Fall Chai
- Hello Pumpkin Cold Brew
My favorite was the Sweater Weather Latte, with the Pecan Pie Latte right behind it.
And as I sat there tasting each one, I started thinking about which drinks my girls would choose—because that is what we do, right? Lauren would love the Simply Fall Chai and the Sweater Weather Latte. Gracie likes bold flavors, so I could see her going straight for the Hello Pumpkin Cold Brew. And my Quinn? She would absolutely steal a sip of my Sweater Weather Latte.
The presentation alone was worth pulling out my camera. Each drink came in its own glass on a wooden flight board with the names written underneath. And we are not talking about four tiny sips of coffee. This flight is generous and definitely shareable.
Of course, I drank the whole thing myself—but what is a girl supposed to do? Leave perfectly good fall coffee sitting there?
It was such a fun way to sample the seasonal menu without having to choose just one—which, honestly, is exactly my kind of decision-making.
Let’s be honest—the coffee is definitely bringing me back. But the meaning behind this place is what will keep bringing me back time after time.
What “Together” Really Means
Together Café’s message is direct: “Ending injustice. One cup at a time.” The mission statement displayed inside says the café exists to raise awareness, educate and equip, and cultivate restoration for survivors.
That was when I realized this adorable coffee shop had a purpose extending far beyond coffee.
While I was sitting upstairs, a gentleman came over and asked whether I needed the extra chair because they could use it somewhere else. I had no idea who he was at the time. Of course, if you know me, you know one simple question can quickly turn into me asking a million more.
That quick exchange became a much longer conversation. I eventually learned that he was one of the pastors connected with the café, and he told me about Lighthouse Boutique and encouraged me to check it out.
Lighthouse Boutique is a Chattanooga-based boutique whose website describes its collection as “Jewelry with Purpose.” The shop carries necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and personalized pieces—including beautiful map necklaces representing countries such as Mexico and Guatemala.
They have some truly incredible items, so this is definitely another place to check out. Beautiful jewelry is one thing, but beautiful jewelry connected to a meaningful reason is something even better.

The People Made the Visit Even Better
Before I knew anything about the larger mission, I noticed the people.
Liv checked me out at the counter and was genuinely so sweet. It was not a huge, dramatic moment—just the kind of warm interaction that makes a new place feel welcoming. Later, what started as a simple question about an extra chair turned into one of those conversations I never could have planned.
I may have arrived because of TikTok, but I left feeling certain I had been exactly where I was supposed to be.
That is what I love about saying yes to places I have never tried. You never know when a random stop will turn into a meaningful conversation or introduce you to work happening right in your own community.

A Chattanooga Coffee Shop Worth Visiting
Together Café works whether you need a quiet place for your laptop, somewhere to meet a friend or just an excuse to try an entire coffee flight. The upstairs seating feels cozy without being cramped, and the world map makes a beautiful backdrop that connects naturally with the café’s wider mission.
The café also offers online ordering and rents its space for private events, including showers, birthdays, business meetings and social gatherings.

My Final Take
There are plenty of places where you can buy a cup of coffee. Together Café gives that ordinary purchase a deeper purpose.
I went in looking for a fun fall drink and a place to sit with my laptop. I left thinking about human trafficking, the people working to prevent it and the survivors rebuilding their lives.
That is a story worth slowing down for—and this is only the beginning of it.
