My Mom: The Photography Sidekick I Never Knew I Needed
Being a photographer is incredible…
but being a photographer with my Mom as my sidekick?
That’s a full comedy show wrapped in sunshine.
My Mom has more energy than a toddler who just ate a handful of Skittles.
While I’m setting up my camera, she’s already across the field fixing a kid’s bow, making a toddler laugh, or hyping up a nervous parent.
She’s the kind of helper who doesn’t wait to be asked — she just sees what people need and jumps in with both feet (and usually at full speed).
She’s the toddler whisperer.
Babies adore her.
Kids follow her like she’s the Pied Piper.
Parents always ask if she can come home with them.
She’ll clap, sing, whistle, make silly sounds — whatever it takes. And unbelievably, it always works.
She brings the chaos AND the magic.
If a kid is running, she’s running.
If a kid is hiding, she’s already crawling under a tree to find them.
If a family needs a laugh, she throws out a line that gets everyone smiling.
She has ideas that sound slightly unhinged…
But then I look through the lens — and it’s PERFECT.
She doesn’t always follow directions… and I love her for it.
“Move left,” I say.
She moves right.
“Stay still,” I say.
She starts fixing someone’s hair again.
Sometimes I think she does it just to make me laugh — and honestly, her energy is half the reason my sessions feel so warm and relaxed.
She cares deeply — and families feel it.
She wants every kid comfortable, every parent stress-free, and every moment real.
She brings heart to every photo session.
I bring the camera — she brings the connection.
Together?

❤️ My Final Thoughts
Not everyone gets to work with their Mom — and not everyone should —
but I’m lucky that mine is the perfect mix of wild energy, big heart, and pure magic.
She’s not just my helper.
She’s my partner.
My momentum.
My laughter.
The soul of so many of my favorite photos.
And yes…
thank God I know how to edit —
because she never stops moving.
