Restaurant Review:

Uncle Larry’s Catfish – Chattanooga, TN

I visited Uncle Larry’s Catfish at 8701 E Brainerd Rd in Chattanooga, and let me just say—wow. I typically don’t enjoy catfish filets, but this place completely changed my mind. The fish was perfectly crisp with a light, non-greasy batter that made every bite delicious.

We started with the fried green tomatoes—lightly breaded with a sweet and slightly spicy flavor that wasn’t overpowering. The hush puppies were amazing, and the onion rings were lightly breaded and full of flavor. Even the white beans were on point!

But the real showstopper? The banana cake—made in-house by Uncle Larry’s momma and niece. It was fresh, layered with bananas, topped with caramel drizzle and whipped cream—absolutely heavenly.

The service was just as impressive as the food. We were greeted warmly and treated like family. Uncle Larry’s has a total of three locations, but this one was a standout. I definitely recommend eating in for the full experience—but just in case, we included the link above to order ahead, and yep—they even cater!

Friendly service, incredible food, and a cozy atmosphere—5 stars all the way!

“If I’m giving it five stars, you better believe it’s worth it. As a Mom who’s tried many restaurants—with kids in tow and without—I only rave about the ones that truly impress me, and this one absolutely did.”
