Beth Went to La La Land Coffee… and Now I Want to Go Too
You know how sometimes a friend sends you pictures from somewhere they’ve been, and before they’ve even left, you’re already adding it to your list?
Yep. That’s exactly what happened when Beth visited La La Land Coffee in Dallas with her daughter.
The bright yellow cups.
The adorable decor.
The coffee.
The smiles.
I mean… how could I not want to go?
At first, I just thought it was another cute coffee shop. And let’s be honest, I’m always up for finding a good cup of coffee.
But what I didn’t realize was that La La Land is about so much more than coffee.
More Than a Coffee Shop
La La Land Kind Cafe was created with a mission to support young adults aging out of the foster care system.
Think about that for a minute.
As Moms, we spend years helping our kids learn how to navigate life. We teach them how to budget, cook, solve problems, make appointments, and sometimes just survive adulthood one day at a time.
Not every young person has someone to do that for them.
That’s what touched my heart about La La Land.
They’re not just serving coffee. They’re creating opportunities, offering mentorship, and helping young adults build confidence as they step into adulthood.
And honestly? I love that.
Why This Hit Me as a Mom
Maybe it’s because I’m in this season of life where I’ve watched my girls grow up.
I’ve watched them figure things out.
And I’ve realized how much support matters.
That’s why I love businesses with a purpose.
Yes, I want the coffee to be good.
Yes, I want the place to be cute.
But when a business is making a real difference in people’s lives? That makes me want to support them even more.
Adding It to My List
So thank you, Beth.
You may have just added another stop to my travel bucket list.
The next time I’m in Dallas, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find me sitting under those yellow umbrellas with a coffee in hand, smiling because I found a place that’s doing a little good in the world.
And honestly, we could all use a little more of that these days.
Have you been to La La Land Coffee?
We would love to hear what you ordered!!

About Beth
One of the things I love most about The Empty Nest Mom community is the people behind the stories.
Beth and I have been friends for more than 20 years. We met when our daughters were in school together, and somewhere between school events, motherhood, and life, we became the kind of friends who feel more like family.
Over the years, we’ve celebrated milestones together, survived the hard seasons, cheered on our kids.
If you’ve followed The Empty Nest Mom for any length of time, you’ve probably seen Beth pop up in photos, videos, and adventures. She is always willing to share a favorite find, a travel recommendation, a great meal, or a fun experience with our community.
Beth brings so much encouragement, laughter, and authenticity to what we do here, and this visit to La La Land Coffee is just another example of her sharing something special with all of us.
