Don’t Tell Mom: The Conversations That Heal Us
There was a time my Daughters kept things from me — and truthfully, I did the same with my Mom.
We all grow into a season where honesty feels scary.
We don’t mean to shut each other out; we’re just trying to protect the hearts we love.
But silence doesn’t keep us safe — it keeps us stuck.
The Truth
Every generation of Women learns and unlearns something new.
My Mom’s silence taught me strength.
My voice taught my Daughter courage.
And now, I think healing happens somewhere in the middle —
when we stop hiding and start talking.

The Part I Used to Wonder About
I remember wondering why my Mom didn’t tell me things — and still doesn’t.
Why was everything a secret?
Then I started talking to other Women around my age (give or take),
and realized…it’s not just us.
It’s generational.
And I hate that.
Why don’t we talk about the real stuff?
How hard marriage can be.
How lonely it gets when the kids are gone, and even when they are home.
How there are seasons when you don’t like your spouse — or even your kids.
Why is that a secret?
Releasing these words helps someone else exhale.
It’s not the picture-perfect Facebook reel — it’s real life.
Menopause is hard. Empty Nesting hurts.
But you do find joy again.
Life is made of seasons — and every one of them teaches you something.

So this season, I’m not chasing perfection in Motherhood.
I’m chasing connection.
Because when we sit down and share the stories we were too afraid to tell,
we don’t just heal our relationships — we heal parts of ourselves.
Remember, you are worthy of greatness.
And you’re never too late to start talking again.
With Love,
